COAST TO COAST - NORTH ROUTE
Your riding ability
On our long distance rides we will be travelling many miles a day in the saddle, riding up and down hills and over rough terrain so you must be capable of riding in a balanced manner for your horses sake! Our horses health and happiness is always a priority to us and because of the long days in the saddle, we require all riders to be competent in riding with a light seat (i.e posting the trot and light seat in canter) to minimise stress on the horses back. We will be crossing rivers, galloping along beaches and may need to jump small natural obstacles, like ditches or fallen trees - nothing too big, but you need to be a capable rider and able to control a horse at speed. It is also important that you are practised in leading a horse over difficult terrain as there may be times when this is necessary. We require all our riders to be at a walk/trot/canter level.

CENTRE BASED TREKS
Hacks from 1 hour up to 3 hours
We are a small friendly yard with happy horses and ponies, and we want to keep it that way. We can offer a range of pony treks and hacking to suit riders of most ages and ability. Our age limit for hacks is 8 years old however we can accomodate short pony rides in the forest on request for younger children.
Our ride-outs are always accompanied by at least one qualified ride leader, and there will never be more than 8 guests on a ride unless specifically requested for example a large family group or group of friends. Because of the nature of the terrain we ride in, we do require riders to have the ability to be confident at the walk on horseback as well as capable with steering and stopping their horse. Unfortunately we cannot accomodate complete beginners at this time.

We always try to tailor our rides to the specific abilities of our riders and can offer something for everybody whether you would like a ride in the tranquil Calendonian pine forest surrounding our centre or would prefer stunning hilltop views or a lazy loch-side picnic - or even a ride that incorporates all of these! Booking is essential for all rides. We advise bookings are made at least one week in advance.
